He was the member of several organizations: the Clerical-Archaeological Council, the Church Antiquities Protection Committee, the Literacy Society and the Historical and Ethnographic Society.
Tedo Zhordania contributed to discovery and critical study of ancient Georgian written monuments, among them the 14th century chronicle of the Eristavi family. He also was highly instrumental in studying the authors and the textual structure of Kartlis Tskhovreba (Chronicles of Kartli). His major work is The Chronicles and Other Material of Georgian History and Literature.
