In August 1924, when Daniel Pipia was a 3rd-year student of Tbilisi University, he was executed by the Bolsheviks as a politically unreliable citizen. His materials were found only recently, edited and prepared for publication. Some of the entries were enriched with better equivalents, which makes the dictionary even more significant because now it contains elements of common Kartvelian origin.
