Roin Metreveli

Roin Metreveli is a historian, academic, public figure, Ph. D. in History (1974), professor (1976), Academician of the Georgian Academy of Sciences (1993). His name is connected to the publication of the Soviet Georgian Encyclopedia. He is the author of more than 300 articles and books and he was the editor of nearly one hundred books on history. In 1991-2004 he was the Head of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi University.

Roin Metreveli is the recipient of the State Award in Science, Akaki Tsereteli and Ivane Javakhishvili Awards and the Abkhazia Academic Award. He regularly participates in international history congresses and various academic conferences.

Artanuji has published his works: Gelati; The Caucasian Civilization in the Context of Globalization Process; The Golden Age; Racha; Patriarch, the Spiritual Father of the Nation; Historical Essays; Kings and Patriarchs of Georgia and Without Heirs (co-author Niko Jadugishvili).
