Akaki Vasade’s Memories and Thoughts were published in two parts, in 1977 and 1983. He was an analytical type of actor, theatre director and public figure. His career coincided with a difficult historical period and he experienced much of what he recounted in his truthful memoirs. Among them were his meetings with Stalin, which the Soviet censorship refused to make public. Many years later his grandson, also Akaki Vasadze, published them in the magazine Teatri da Tsovreba (Theatre and Life).
